Mirror, Mirror Series
Published by DarkBrain Comics
Reviewer: Brandon Ennals

Lately I’ve had the itch to grab the pencil and paper again, and start putting together some sketches. I’ve
always enjoyed drawing but sometimes my other interests get in the way. So, recently I’ve been reading
more and more graphic novels. Then I came across a series of graphic novels called Mirror,Mirror which
is published by DarkBrain Comics. For those of you who do not know, DarkBrain Comics post web comics
on their website and are free to all who want to view them. To give you an idea of the type of comics
they provide, let’s just say they are of a graphic nature, intended to be viewed by a mature audience.

So let’s dive in to the Mirror,Mirror series. The series focuses on a character named Brenna. Brenna is a
sultry, business woman that definitely has a dark side to her. Brenna is being haunted by a supernatural
being named Mirriam. Mirriam appears in any object that casts a reflection and will not leave Brenna
alone to enjoy her life. Without spoiling the series, let’s just say Mirriam’s presence affects Brenna’s
life a lot more than just being a nuisance in reflective surfaces. Brenna also has another darker, seedier
secret in her personal life. Brenna is also a dominatrix. We see her in various bondage situations which
winds up intertwining with her professional life.

I read the books, and only after did I visit the website to find the novels were on there for free viewing.
One of the biggest differences between reading the hard copy and viewing the web comic is the web
comic contains audio. You get sound effects and dialog to go with each frame. Most notably, I was
happily surprised to see that adult film actress Tabitha Stevens does the voice work for the character
Brenna. Another big difference between the hard copy and the web comic is the hard copy was
uncensored. Mirror,Mirror contains sex situations, and a lot of them. When you view it on the website,
you will see some of the content has the blocked off. That doesn’t take away from the story at all, I’m
just pointing out the difference in the two versions.

After reading this series, you realize this could be a complete series of 5 books, or it could be open for
more titles in the future. I am really hoping for the latter since I found the character of Brenna to be very
interesting. She is definitely one of my favorite characters I’ve discovered recently. Since I have read all
of this series, I can’t wait to get into some of the other titles DarkBrain Comics has posted on their site,
www.darkbrain.com . I’m sure you will see more reviews on their titles in the very near future.

My rating for the Mirror,Mirror series is 8.5 out of 10. Love it!
