About “BLOOD FOR IRINA”
Irina (Shauna Henry ) is dying as she stalks the streets at night looking for blood. She has lived over a century; tormented by painful memories, living in a run-down seaside motel. Her perceptions skewed, her body and mind revolting against her, her private hell is mirrored by the motel’s manager, driven by an obsession to protect Irina and keep her secrets safe. A broken prostitute (Carrie Gemmell) whose desperate plight may be worse than Irina’s, also haunts the water’s edge. Influenced by Jess Franco, Werner Herzog and Jean Rollin, “Blood for Irina” is a psychological, experimental “fever dream’ about three people living a life on the fringe, trapped in world of literal and figurative decay. The film was written, edited and scored by Alexander, who also shot the film with David Goodfellow. The screening is presented by Times Scare NYC and Rude Shape Production. Film provided by Autonomy Pictures.
